First Lady Crissy Haslam delivers 5 Millionth Book for Imagination Library of Middle TN

Imagination Library of Middle Tennessee, local affiliate of Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, celebrated the distribution of its 5 millionth book on November 14, 2018 at Fannie Battle Day Home for Children. Imagination Library of Middle Tennessee, in partnership with the Governor’s Books from Birth Foundation and United Way of Metropolitan-Nashville, provides one book each month for all enrolled children, birth to age 5, in Davidson, Williamson and Sumner Counties to boost language acquisition, literacy and kindergarten readiness.

In honor of this milestone,Tennessee’s First Lady Crissy Haslam read a story at Fannie Battle Day Home for Children and presented the 5 millionth book to one of its students.

Also at the event, representatives from PNC announced a $25,000 donation to Imagination Library of Middle Tennessee, with a challenge to the community to raise an additional $25,000 to support the local efforts of Imagination Library.
